What We Are Up To! Atlanta Jazz Festival

jazz_erin
Sister and I were reunited for some Memorial Day fun in Atlanta. We spent the better part of Saturday at the Atlanta Jazz Festival. In addition to taking in some music by some of our favorites including Ester Rada, Christian Scott and Russell Gunn featuring Dionne Farris, we got to check out and speak with some of the wonderful artists and vendors at the festival.

Here’s a little inside peak at what we’ve been up to…

Oh, Alice Smith. What more to say. We love you and my sister and I are plotting to join your tour. Do you need a pair of backup singers? A duo of personal assistants? Roadies? Shall we send our resumes? We work cheap…

Winter Blues & Books..What We’ve Been Up To

Here’s a little inside peak at what we’ve been up to…

Sooo…when I wrote our last ‘what we’ve been up to’ post about being snowed in, little did I know that two weeks later, we’d both be snowed in – again. Womp.  Besides shoveling snow (Erin) and yelling at kids (Kia)… this week’s snow storm was a little more fun, as the fridges were stocked and we both had several good books to wrap up. Here are a  few other things we’ve been up to.

* So one thing you should know about us Howey girls, is we like to read. Erin just finished the magical Akata Witch. by Nnedi Okorafor. Check out  the autohor’s blog here nnedi.blogspot.com/

* Kia loved Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche, a cross-continent tale of love and the nuisances of American and African cultures written with wit and lots of humor.
