Tis the season for crocheting

Every year around this time (actually just after halloween) I start to plan to crochet gifts for Christmas. Please note the operative word “plan” because it never quite goes the way I imagine….I crocheted a tote bag two years ago for my mother and let’s just say that I’ve never seen that bag again. Well this year I’m still planning to crochet a few gifts but on a much smaller scale. However, for those of you out there who are more skilled than I am, here a couple of resources to inspire you.

Afya Ibomu put out a book containing very cute and easy to follow patterns for hats and head wraps. This book features images of some of your favorite RnB and hip hop artist sporting several of her pieces.

One of the recent craves are amigurumi dolls, crocheted or knitted dolls that originated in Japan.  You can find great patterns (and dolls themselves) on etsy.
